About Hong Kong Design Centre
Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) is a non-profit organization founded by the Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations Limited*, with support from the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Aiming to help businesses excel through design, HKDC shoulders the mission to equip Hong Kong with a rich source of innovative products and services, and design talents across all disciplines, and to establish Hong Kong as the design hub of Asia.
The HKDC works with Government, business partners and associations to promote design as a strategic, value-adding component in business. In essence, HKDC serves as a link between businesses and designers in Hong Kong. HKDC is the first organization in Hong Kong dedicated to using all their resources in promoting design for business. It aims to encourage, inspire, support and facilitate the best use of design in the business world. By so doing, HKDC strives to contribute to the sustainable competitiveness, economic prosperity and overall well-being of Hong Kong.
HKDC is active in organizing events and activities that promote the use of design in business. By creating a sense of belonging among designers in Hong Kong, it offers a united platform where ideas, knowledge and information can be shared not just throughout the design community but also local business sectors as well. HKDC disseminates information and maintains open channels of communication with international design organizations, keeping Hong Kong abreast of the rest of the world.
* Founding members include Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), Interior Design Association, Hong Kong (HKIDA), Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA), and The Chartered Society of Designers, Hong Kong (CSDHK).
